Editor’s Note

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the second edition of ‘The Imprints,’ our CSR newsletter designed especially for iA employees, our partners, and affiliates.

This edition of ‘The Imprints’ would speak about the current affairs in the CSR industry, activities from the previous month and our upcoming initiatives and tie-ups with various NGOs and corporates. We will also highlight the contributions of our employees and affiliates, who are volunteering and contributing to our initiatives in building equitable and sustainable communities.

What’s the Buzz?
Water, a scarcity?!

The water level in the Sardar Sarovar Dam at Kevadiya in Narmada district reached its highest capacity at 138.68 metres. The dam aims to provide drinking water to 131 urban centres and 9,633 villages (53 per cent of total 18,144 villages in Gujarat) and irrigation facilities for 18.54 hectares of land, covering 3,112 villages in 15 districts. The dam is currently holding 3.16 lakh mcft (million cubic feet) of water, which is 94.612% of its actual storage capacity, said Gujarat Government. PM Modi inaugurated the dam on September 17, 2017.”

Allaying industry concerns, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said violations of CSR norms under the Companies Act 2013 will be treated only as a civil liability and not as a criminal offence. The committee led by Injeti Srinivas, Secretary – MCA recommends corporates to focus at adopting sustainable development goals which would additionally include sports promotion, senior citizens' welfare, welfare of differently-abled persons, disaster management and heritage protection.

Rewind, Relive!
Science Lab at Ropad Primary School:

iA Foundation lays its foot to set-up a ‘Science Lab’ at the Ropad Primary School, in collaboration with ‘SOPHOS’ a leading technology co. in Ahmedabad and Respire group. The end of November 2019 will conclude the entire lab set-up.

Adopt an Athlete

Through ‘Adopt an Athlete’ – our initiative under the sports sphere, we’ve started supporting Abdul, a state and district level cycling champion with the guidance of 42.1. We felicitated Abdul with a racing bicycle for all his achievements in the past and wish him good luck for future endeavours. Also, students from Ropad Primary school whom we were supporting for skating achieved the second position at Khel Mahakumbh event held on 14th Sept,19.

Into the Future
Eco Run at DAIICT – September 29, 2019

DA-IICT Gandhinagar organizes a 7 KM long run, supported by iA Foundation. The primary objective of the run is to raise the concerns we are facing towards environment and society. On 2nd October 2019; we’ll be organizing a tree plantation drive at DA-IICT campus.

Adding colours to Education – October 2019.

oundation joins hands with Indigo Paint to repair and repaint Ropad Primary school along with setting up a Science lab. The purpose of repainting the school is to provide better infrastructure and friendly environment for the students.
